BALLOONING OVER KENYA

"CC Africa has brought hot air ballooning to Tanzania's Eastern Serengeti", says Nicky Fitzgerald, director of Marketing of Africa's foremost purveyor of sustainable luxury safaris. "This will enable guests of CC Africa's Grumeti River Camp to book a morning of aerial game viewing," according to Fitzgerald.

A 15-minute game drive takes guests from the lodge to the balloon launch pad. Once airborne, guests have the unique opportunity to view game from treetop level, and then ascend 1,000 ft. to see the sheer enormity of the Serengeti. The flight ends with sparkling wine and a full English breakfast served near the landing site.

The cost is $499 per person.

TOP INCENTIVE COMPANIES VISIT SUN INTERNATIONAL’S NEW LUXURY RESORT IN EGYPT

New luxury resort Sun International Resort at Port Ghalib in Egypt recently played host to a group of leading incentive house representatives on an exclusive trip to Egypt. The VIP group included delegates from such distinguished companies as Maritz, Galactic, ITA Group, US Motivation, Meridian, and The Business Improvement Company.

Luxurious Sun International Resort at Port Ghalib is majestically situated on the banks of the Red Sea and offers superb hospitality provided by the famed hotel group from Southern Africa. The resort comprises three unique properties: the 5-star deluxe hotel The Palace at Port Ghalib and two 5-star hotels, the Sahara Sun Oasis and the Sahara Sun Sands. The property features the largest privately owned marina on Egypt’s Red Sea, developed by the M.A. Kharafi Group, as well as a dynamic town center alive with shops, boutiques, restaurants, bistros, cafés, galleries, and a world-class conference center.

During their stay at Sun International Resort at Port Ghalib in November the group barbecued on the private sandy beach, snorkeled in the clear blue waters of the Red Sea, and immersed themselves in the desert as they quad biked, rode camels, and went horseback riding in the exotic sand filled landscape. A sumptuous going away dinner redolent with ancient Mediterranean spices at The Olive Restaurant at The Palace rounded out the unforgettable visit to Port Ghalib.

In addition to spending time at the unique luxury resort, the group took in the sights in Cairo, visited the Pyramids and the Sphinx in Giza, and took in Luxor. All of these sites are less than a three hour drive from Sun International Resort at Port Ghalib, with the exception of Cairo. For more information visit www.discoverportghalib.com.

TO THE POINT
Southern Tanzania’s Most Exciting New Private Lodge

Imagine your own intimate safari getaway deep in the wilderness of Tanzania, surrounded only by your loved ones, highly experienced guides, and the exotic sights and sounds of the wild. Now, Uncharted Outposts Safari & Travel Company is raising their tailor-made safaris to a whole new level with their newest property, Kiba Point. Kiba Point is the extraordinary new base for your private Selous safari with family or friends. This 8-bed camp is booked on a totally exclusive basis only, and includes all game drives, walking safaris, birding, boating and fish trips. Set on the banks of the Rufiji River in one of the largest wildlife conservation areas anywhere in the world, Kiba Point is the perfect camp for a secluded family or friendly getaway.

While staying at the camp, no luxury is compromised. Four spacious, airy cottages, made of stone and thatch, are raised up on platforms above the river line. The interiors are cool and elegant, with large beds softly draped with mosquito nets and planter chairs and lounge chairs abound for the ultimate relaxation. The large and open bathrooms contain all the modern amenities: hot/cold running water, flush loos, and an indoor and outdoor shower. Each room also boasts a plunge pool and the main mess includes a large swimming pool. Guests can expect to be pampered endlessly in the dining area with plump sofas, a library of books, a personal bar, and delicious food and drinks.

Though it may be hard to drag yourself away from this intensely beautiful arena, by way of gentle persuasion you'll have your own safari guide, four wheel drives and boats at your disposal to help you disappear at will on game drives, expeditions up the river, and barefoot fishing. That's if you even want to leave this private paradise, as it very quickly becomes your bush home away from home.

And then again, if it's all too much, you might decide to give it up completely for a night's fly-camping, with bedrolls and lanterns under a trillion stars.
