4th Annual Professional Developement And Leadership Conference For Women Returns To Las Vegas
Conference Will Offer Business and Career Building Skills and Tactics

One of Las Vegas’ most prominent annual gatherings of professional women will become center stage once again this year during the Women of Color Conference to be held Aug. 15 - 16 at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.

A forum for professional development and networking, the conference will feature nationally recognized speakers and executive development experts.  “The Women of Color Conference will celebrate the professional and career accomplishments of women who have broken through the proverbial ‘glass ceiling’,” said Debra Nelson, MGM Resorts International vice president of Corporate Diversity and conference chair. “At the same time, participants will be encouraged to share their own personal stories as a way to inspire each other.” In addition to workshops and leadership lectures, for the first time this year the conference will feature a Career Center, where participants can obtain professional advice from certified career coaches. Also debuting this year is a 5K walk during the conference for participants to promote the value of exercise and physical fitness.

The conference is hosted by the Asian, Urban, Latin, and Women’s Chambers of Commerce in Nevada. “Our partnership with the Chambers for this event is unique, as both MGM Resorts and the Chambers share a mission to bring all women together – regardless of race or ethnicity – to support each other in our professional pursuits,” said Nelson.

The 4th Annual Women of Color Conference is sponsored by MGM Resorts International, Cox Communications, IBM andNV Energy. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. The registration fee for participants is $125. The reduced registration fee rate for students is $75. Registration includes the full conference and all workshops, lectures, access to the Career Center, the 5K walk and the Empowering Our Future Luncheon.
