BRENDA SQUARE TO RETIRE FROM VISIT SAN ANTONIO

Square joined the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau, now Visit San Antonio, in 2001 as a convention sales manager and was promoted to director of convention services, now destination services, in June 2010. As director, Square led Visit San Antonio's talented destination services team in connecting meeting planners to San Antonio suppliers including venues, restaurants, entertainers and transportation.

"Brenda has always been committed to providing San Antonio's clients with service that is above and beyond," said Visit San Antonio President & CEO Casandra Matej. "Her spirit of service and gift of compassionate leadership will be greatly missed. Brenda has made an impact on San Antonio and our industry."

Square and her team have been destination concierge to more than 1,500 meeting groups accounting for more than four million attendees including the 2015 General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist, an 11-day conference with planning spanning five years, the 2018 NAACP National Convention and the 2017 IAEE Expo! Expo!

Prior to joining Visit San Antonio, Square worked as director of event marketing for a telecom company, managing more than 175 events each year for the multi-state organization. She has been involved with Destinations International (formerly DMAI), Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and Event Service Professionals Association (ESPA) for more than a decade.
