Oklahoma CIty Convention & Visitors Bureau Announces Promotions And New Hires


The Oklahoma City Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) recently announced several promotions on their staff as well as a new communications manager. Johnny Danrich III, CMP, CASE, CTA, former assistant director of Sales, is the new director of Sales and Services of the OKCCVB. Sue Hollenbeck, MS, CSEE, CTA, former assistant director of Sports Business Development, is now the director of Sports Business. She is in her sixth year with the CVB. Hollenbeck manages the Bureau's solicitation and servicing of sports events and conventions. Sandy Price, CTA, former director of Tourism Sales, is the new vice president of Tourism Sales. Price has served with the CVB since 1987. The Tourism Department works with group and individual leisure travel and visitor information distribution.   "Each of these individuals have a proven track record for success and are responsible for the continued growth of the tourism business in OKC", said Mike Carrier, president of the Oklahoma City CVB. "I am excited to see each of them develop and look forward to the impact they will continue to have on Oklahoma City."

Additionally the CVB recently hired Tabbi Burwell as the Communications manager. Burwell is responsible for strategic communications planning, media relations and managing all editorial releases for the CVB. Prior to joining the Oklahoma City CVB in February 2014, Burwell served as the marketing and sales coordinator for the University of Central Oklahoma where she executed sales and marketing for both Housing & Dining and Nigh University Center Conference and Events in addition to managing their summer conference operation.  Burwell also served as the public relations coordinator with SMG in Oklahoma City. She graduated in 2005 from the University of Central Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in public relations. Currently Burwell serves as the past-president for the Public Relations Society of America, Oklahoma City Chapter.

"Tabbi brings valuable experience from various roles in communications and the industry, and we are excited to add her to our team," said Carrier. "With more than nine years in communications, event planning and marketing experience, Tabbi understands our industry and can bring beneficial exposure to Oklahoma City."
