Benchmark Hospitality International Names Calvin J. Banks Director Of Training And Development




Benchmark Hospitality International, a leading U.S.-based hospitality management company, has announced the appointment of Calvin J. Banks as director of training and development.  Karen DiFulgo, senior vice president, human resources, made the announcement.

"It is with great pleasure that I welcome Calvin to Benchmark Hospitality International," stated Ms. DiFulgo.  "I can't imagine anyone more qualified or credentialed to lead our training and employee development programming.  We're glad he is a part of our human resources team!"

Calvin Banks brings more than two decades of experience within hotel management, food & beverage and entertainment to his new role with Benchmark.  He was most recently director of training for The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs.  He has served in several positions of increasing responsibility for Gaylord Hotels, including director of training and senior training manager.

Banks is a former president of the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers.  He is a member of the Education and Certification Advisory Committee for the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute, and is a member of the Department of Labor competency model panels for both the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation and the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute.  Banks has been named a "40 Under 40 Rising Star" by Full Service Restaurant Magazine and received the Doctorate of Food Service Award from the North American Food Equipment Manufacturers Association. 

Calvin Banks is a graduate of the University of Texas, Arlington, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology.  He received his Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix.  Banks is a Certified Hospitality Trainer through the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute, and a certified instructor through Development Dimensions International.  He is relocating to The Woodlands with his wife Kayci and their daughters Kylah, Hanalee, Helaina, and Hayvn.
